In January 2023, I joined Meow Wolf’s Art Team Task Force as a local artist. Over the next six months, my job was to create site-specific art. Among my main tasks were applying scenic painting techniques—like graffiti, sign painting, stenciling, aging, and detailed sculpture painting—to transform spaces into vibrant, engaging environments. I also designed, sculpted, and fabricated unique objects and soft sculpture foliage using innovative materials and methods to enhance thematic cohesion. Collaborating closely with creative directors and designers, I worked to bring their vision to life while balancing artistic goals, construction timelines, and ensuring safety and functionality throughout the exhibit. Barnacles made from epoxy sculpting medium to prevent climbing hazards. Installed with lath and screws and sculpted to tie in.
Forest prior to foliage installation - I installed net
About halfway through foliage installation (you can still see some net!) I installed all of this and fabricated the custom flowers and leaves out of fire resistant materials.
